Want To Become An Expert Guitar Player?
The guitar is an instrument that has been around for as long as 4000 years. From that time there have been a number of variations to the instrument leaving us with what we have now. Today there are two kinds that stand out as popular; the acoustic and the electric. The acoustic instrument has been in the works for the last 4000 years. But it wasn't until the 1930's that the electric was first introduced. And even since that time the experimentation of the electric has been an ever evolving process.
Acoustic or Electric?
If you want to learn how to play the guitar there are two trains of thought on how you should begin. Some people will say that learning on an acoustic is going to be your best bet. The action, or distance between the strings and the neck, is a little higher and would therefore be a good learning tool. So by the time that you would want to play on an electric it would be much simpler because of the tighter action. However, on the other side of the spectrum there are those who say that if you want to know how to play an electric then you should learn on an electric. There is no right way to learn the guitar, only good techniques that will lead to a better understanding on the instrument.
